Samsung Techwin is a video surveillance and optoelectronics company.

Samsung Techwin entered the European and North American television / video surveillance market in 2008, with a line of day / night cameras and digital video recorders. In 2009, the company introduced a new series of digital IP cameras and network video recorders.

Samsung Techwin and its large subsidiary Samsung Electronics announced in October 2009 that in 2010, the Samsung Electronics CCTV unit would be unified with the Samsung Techwin CCTV unit.

In December 2014, Samsung Electronics announced the sale of its holding stake to Samsung Techwin by the South Korean conglomerate Hanhwa Group.

In June 2015, Hanwha completed the takeover and renamed it to Hanwha Techwin.

In March 2016, Samsung Techwin America announced that it would change its corporate name to Hanwha Techwin America.
