Video surveillance in agriculture

In Ukraine, agriculture is one of the most important areas contributing to the development of the country’s economy. Domestic farmers invest large material resources in the development of this sphere, and introduce various innovative technologies. And the cost of these technologies, agricultural machinery, components, fuels and lubricants, is not cheap and continues to grow steadily. The question arises. How to effectively maintain and control your property and materials, keep the consumption of raw materials and fuel, and eliminate cases of negligent attitude of employees to their duties?

And now a little about how it works. When deploying a video surveillance system in farmland, as a rule, they are faced with the transmission of video data from cameras over long distances. A special optical cable or the so-called radio bridge, consisting of two directional antennas connecting the observation object and the viewing place (guard post), helps to cope with this task.

Optical cable can be laid on electric poles or underground for many kilometers. With just one cable, you can transfer large streams of video from all cameras at once. This cable is also not subject to lightning and short circuit, it is absolutely not susceptible to electromagnetic interference, because it is not made of metal. The cost of this cable is several times less than copper, which gives significant cost savings.

In places where optical cable laying is not possible, a video signal transmission system using a radio bridge was installed.

It looks like this. At the observation object and at the guard post, as a rule at the highest points, directional radio antennas are installed. A prerequisite for the operation of a video surveillance system is the presence of direct visibility between the antennas.

Recording video equipment, at the object of observation, is installed in a special anti-vandal metal box.

Video data from cameras is transmitted over the radio channel for many kilometers to the security post, where the situation is monitored both in real time and the archive is viewed. In order to avoid damage or theft of the video archive from the video surveillance object, it is possible to organize a backup (duplicate) recording at the guard post. Thus, it is possible to increase the reliability of the video surveillance system and prevent the loss of archived video recordings.
