If you set out to equip a remote workstation of a CCTV operator, then you need to choose the equipment taking into account the maximum comfort for observing cameras.

A simple example. If you take a monitor with a diagonal of 32 inches and place a grid of 32 cameras on it, then the image of a single cell will be too small. This factor will interfere with the operator’s quality monitoring of cameras. He will constantly peer into the image, thereby straining his vision. The consequence of this will be increased fatigue and inattention. This means that the risk of missing an important moment from the cameras will increase.

Empirically, it was found that the optimal number of cameras for a monitor with a diagonal of 32 inches is 16, with a maximum of 20 cameras. This number of cameras allows the operator to observe the situation quite comfortably throughout the entire shift.

In total, 7 monitors were installed at the facility: 4 monitors with a diagonal of 32 inches (upper row) and 3 monitors with a 55 inch diagonal (lower row).
