Advantages of PTZ IP Cameras
Here are some of the reasons to equip your building and surveillance system with PTZ cameras.
1. Increased field of view and fewer blind spots
This is the biggest and most obvious benefit of rotating zoom cameras. They allow you to see more than a fixed camera, as they can move from side to side and tilt up or down to get a full 180-degree view in both horizontal and vertical directions. When properly installed and positioned (not against a wall), some PTZ cameras can provide a full 360-degree view.
2. Powerful zoom
PTZ cameras are equipped with powerful optical zooms, often ranging from 12x to 36x on high-end camera models. The strong optical zoom allows you to capture clear images over long distances. When combined with high definition HD or UHD recording, this allows you to see and distinguish between different details: license plates, faces, and more.
3. Tracking motion
PTZ cameras provide a more complete set for motion tracking. Pan, tilt and zoom functions can work with software and intelligent video analytics to automatically track a target (be it a person, a specific object, or a vehicle) in a much larger area. These devices are also good for manually tracking targets, even remotely.
4. Autofocus
Nearly all PTZ cameras can automatically focus and adjust when tilting, panning or zooming to provide clear, focused images and discern all the details, people, and more.
5. Profitability
PTZ cameras can be more expensive than comparable fixed cameras, but offer more flexibility in system setup. In some situations, one PTZ camera can replace 2 or even 3 conventional video surveillance devices.
