Advantages of a gel battery

  1. High resource of charge/discharge cycles (1200*) and, as a result, longer service life (on average 7-8 years, depending on operating conditions).
  2. The battery can be installed in residential premises. The viscous structure of the electrolyte and the complete tightness of the housing exclude the leakage of acid and guarantee the absence of harmful vapors.
  3. During practical use, gel batteries show stable results when working in conditions of low (-20°С) and high (+50°С) ambient temperatures. A wide range of operating temperatures allows GEL to be used as storage batteries for a solar power plant.
  4. The manufacturing technology of gel batteries implies for these batteries the ability to withstand long discharge, cyclic discharge, deep discharge and discharge with high currents.
  5. Batteries of this type have low self-discharge rates during long-term storage and reliable self-protection against overdischarge and excessive battery charging.

Features of the production of gel batteries

The main feature of gel batteries is the viscous (gel-like) structure of the electrolyte.

The housing is filled with electrolyte using a vacuum pump, which allows to achieve its uniform concentration and high density of adhesion to the plates.

Separators that separate lead electrodes of gel batteries are made of strong microporous material with aluminum additives. This design makes the separator resistant to vibrations and mechanical damage, as well as to the chemical effects of the aggressive acid environment inside the battery.

After filling with electrolyte, the battery is subjected to long-term drying, during which microcracks are formed in the structure of the electrolyte. This technology allows several times to reduce the % of evaporated vapors.

Batteries manufactured using GEL technology, compared to AGM batteries of similar electrolyte volume, have:

  • large capacity,
  • stable homogeneous reaction on all parts of the plate,
  • less plate corrosion,
  • high heat output,
  • minimum indicators of electrolyte detachment.

Purpose

Universal external batteries of the gel type use:

  1. In telecommunication and other communication systems.
  2. For equipment of video surveillance, security, security, fire and other alarm systems.
  3. In uninterruptible power supply systems of server stations.
  4. As a power source for medical, laboratory, commercial and other specialized equipment.
  5. In energy storage systems from alternative sources (batteries for solar batteries).
  6. To provide autonomous or emergency lighting.
  7. Like batteries for uninterruptible power supplies and UPS.
