IoT

IoT (Internet of Things) is a concept of a data transmission network between physical objects (“things”) equipped with built-in tools and technologies to interact with each other or with the external environment. It is assumed that the organization of such networks is capable of restructuring economic and social processes, excluding the need for human participation from part of actions and operations.

P
PoE

PoE – Power over Ethernet. It is a technology for supplying power to network devices (for example, IP cameras) via an Ethernet network cable. The standard provides a range of data transmission and power up to 100 m, but there are switches that support the mode “Extend mode” – when activated, the range of data transmission and power increases to 250 m, at a maximum speed of 10 Mbps.

W
Wi-Fi

Wi-Fi is a wireless LAN technology that can be built using any device that supports the IEEE 802.11 standard. The main Wi-Fi frequency bands are 2.4 GHz (2412 MHz-2472 MHz) and 5 GHz (5160-5825 MHz). WPA and WPA2 data encryption protocols are used. Wi-Fi technology is used in many IP cameras, IP intercoms, switching equipment to provide wireless signal transmission. However, it should be noted that in most cases, these devices still need to be powered by wire.
